Wet season earthworks on the Sunshine Coast

Summer rain changes how — and when — earthworks should be done. A few practical notes on timing your dig.
The Sunshine Coast wet season can turn a straightforward dig into a slog. Saturated soil behaves nothing like dry ground — it sticks to the bucket, rutts under the machine, and compacts poorly once it finally dries out.
Where we can, we schedule earthworks around the weather. A clear window of a few dry days is often all a residential job needs, and planning around the forecast keeps the result cleaner and more stable than pushing through a downpour.
When wet work is unavoidable, we adjust. Smaller machine loads, careful travel paths, and keeping the base of the cut drained all help. The goal is a finished surface that will hold up once it dries, not a muddy mess that has to be reworked later.
If you are planning a job over the warmer months, it is worth building a little flexibility into your timeline. We are always happy to talk through timing so your dig lands in the right window.
